  From: "Carolyn Torres" Date: Fri, 29 Dec 2006 01:11:26 -0800 The story i have on Sarah Jane (?) CHARLES BEAUCHAMP... is that she and her husband Issac Nidever Charles traveled to Texas about 1829. They travel with a few other families, which i believe they were related to. Issac split a league of land with Daniel SHIPMAN (I will look that up for you). Issac and his family were part of Stephen F. Austin's old 300 ... they are not listed because they split the land Austin gave Daniel Shipman. Issac had to travel back to the Red River part of Texas, it is believed that he went for other family members, but he never returned and is thought he was killed by Indians. Shortly after that John Beauchamp showed up and worked on the farm ... then married Sarah Jane CHARLES. There is a story there too ... supposedly he was still married at the time to a woman in KY, although when he died the courts ruled he was not a bigamist. ( I am giving you the shorter version on the story, of course). John BEAUCHAMP was at the Battle of San Jacinto ... Texas Independance 1836.
